Pros and cons of Consumer Reports Magazine iPad app for iPhone and iPad

Consumer Reports Magazine iPad app good for

I think some of those here having trouble suffer from stupid user syndrome. I have a retina display iPad and this app is clear and crisp. No problems at all. I had no problem downloading or installing. Great app good info and Ill continue getting them.
This update has finally fixed my biggest annoyance about the previous app which was the low resolution. Articles are now high resolution and look great on the retina display. Double tap zooms in on an article and some articles now have animations and video clips embedded. Registration for me worked at no extra cost above my print subscription. App is now even better than the print subscription. Thank you for this update!
Magazine is great, the organization is an American treasure, but the app disappoints when every update requires logging in again. The app appears to have no persistence for login credentials between updates. Its not alone in this failing, but it seems like TouchID would solve this problem once and for all…
I find the digital magazine easy to navigate and well designed. I think people might just have a hard time adjusting to the digital format? Ive had no issues. Consumer Reports has always been incredibly useful for me too.

Some bad moments

Just purchased subscription and I cant download latest issue....continue getting an error message. Very disappointed!
I cannot access magazine even though I have subscribed. No response from CR or APP support (Apple). Will be demanding a refund.
As a fully paid subscriber, I expect that I should be able to tap the app icon and get the magazine I paid for. Instead its a painful exercise of trying to delete/reinstall/cross my fingers and hope that Ill be able to read what used to be so incredibly simple to buy from a local magazine shop. The Consumer Reports app is NOT a Recommended Best Buy.
It is a great magazine but the app is FAR from perfect. There is no retina display support, and the app hasnt been updated for 6 months. Also it is slow and downloading magazines is confusing and slow. Needs improvement.
Well, I purchased what I thought was access to consumers magazine. But no, what I have is a useless app and if I want to read a current consumer magazine I pay five bucks per issue. Something is wrong here and I suggest consumers inc. review this process as they would anything else and this could be found under section "sucker every day".
If you think youre gonna get what you have on your PC youll be very disappointed. Very surprising from a prestigious magazine.
