Consumer Reports Magazine iPad App Reviews

CR trying to be ironic?

CRs purpose is to represent the CONSUMER. Unfortunately, it is hard to trust their opinion when they do not offer a product (this app) that actually works. The app runs as if it was only halfway developed before put on iTunes. It constantly crashes or just ignores commands.

Search?

You can find all the issues, which is nice but theres no search function. They also leave out page numbers just to make it a bit more difficult. These features are available on the website, but they want two subscriptions because why wouldnt someone want to purchase the same thing twice!

Terrible App

This app is the worst ever. Its easier to get into Fort Knox than it is to sign into the app. It keeps you in a never ending loop of trying to sign in.

Its not worth the one star

I can log in to the app, I can reset my password, but I cannot verify my print subscription or download any issue. The app is worthless and makes me question if I can really trust Consumer Reports these days. This app is a horrible reflection on the organization - they would be better served to pull the app and apologize to subscribers, than to leave this garbage out there.

Bait and Switch

I think multiple star ratings because an app installs correctly the first time is over-generous and skews the overall ratings. It installed fine for me to start and went downhill from there. There are too many problems to list here but I wanted to validate all the other one-star raters. Its like having an app flash all the potential in the world at you, but. sorry, you have to pay for the digital version to get it, because it doesnt actually work in this app. I am a long-term print subscriber using on iPad Mini 4.

Dysfunctional - Consumer Reports App

The Consumer Reports App is incapable of confirming a current Subscribers Account. The current App is incapable of downloading the current digital issue (e.g. Aug. 2016) of Consumer Reports Magazine to my iPad after multiple unsuccessful attempts. The non-functionality of this App will ultimately cause Consumer Reports to lose subscribers out of frustration. iTunes & Apple should drop this App if Consumer Reports does not get its act together by the end of the year in my opinion.

Gee the app you love to hate

Why do I have to pullout an old hard copy to find my account number and once again and again retype it and my password. This is the only app that cant seem to remember this info each time I go back to it.

FIX IT NOW!!!

From reading other reviews and from my own recent experience it should be obvious to Consumer Reports that they have a problem and need to A. Acknowledge the problem and B. FIX THE PROBLEM!!! You cant sign in even if you put in the proper information. Ridiculous!!

Very poor App and support

Consumer report should practice what they preach. They need to admit and fix all of the issue related to their iPad App, and phone support. They are very critical of others, but not their organization.

Useless App

I am a print subscriber with a subscription that expires 2018 - unable to download & read new issues or previous older issues except for the April 2016 issues on my iPad using the Consumer Reports Magazine iPad Edition - Im able to login but it says not valid account number or zip code and is asking me to pay $4.99 per issue (Tap to Purchase). I am also unable to Restore All Purchases using the iPad App. Your iPad App is totally useless. It use to work with no problems!

MR

You have the worsr web site I have ever seen. The sign in is impossible and ends up in a useless loop. The download says the app was downloaded but there is no icon for the app in the utilities .You should be ashamed of your on line performance.

Horrible, horrible App, Consumer Reports App is LAME

What a terrible app. You go on an endless loop of entering your password, user name, account #, etc and in 3 months of trying, Ive yet to be able to access my digital content, CR ought turn their Reviews on their own app! They wouldnt even get one star! Hugely disappointed. I promise I will not renew my subscription again. CR IS HYPOCRITICAL! They dont deserve the right to review other products, when their own product is so terrible!

I agree that the app and online magazine is terrible

Zero stars if it would let me review with zero. Still cannot access emag or online material. The only reason I keep trying is that my housemate begged me to keep the print subscription. I would rather just go to library to read or look up articles or reviews. This ties for worst app/emag sub ever. Heirloom Gardener anyone?

Remarkably frustrating!!!

This app requires that I sign in anew, re-enter my subscription number, email address, zip code and password EACH TIME I USE IT. Frequently, just as I complete the process it fails, requiring me to start the entire process all over again. By launching and persisting with such a flawed application Consumer Reports Magazine is demonstrating disrespect for its subscribers.

Good content, meh app

Love the content. App is a pain. You have to log in every time you want to read any content. Please fix the app. Dont download. Get CR on Zinio. The app works and customer service is great

Worst of the worst

Thats what CR would rate their own app. Its absolute garbage! The worst part is that its been garbage for years. If it was this awful for a couple months and then updated that would be forgivable. Im so tired of logging in and then going to grab a print magazine for my subscription number every time I want to download an issue. Totally defeats the purpose of an e-magazine.

Dont waste your time downloading

Useless, should give access to products. Only option is to purchase old issues.

Not pleased

I prefer reading newspapers and magazines online so subscribed tnru itunes.I am getting endless requests for user name/passwords ..neither of which i tend to remember. It is password hell tnese days to figure out what goes where especially since i paid for a year..Like WSJ, etc.End of year I pay again.Simple! The online subscription does not offer what a paper one would. It is hard to access my past issues and you do not recognize my email for me get my user name.I will probably not renew if it continues tho I enjoy your content. a

Worst

Dont bother using this app. All the other bad reviews are right on. This app stinks on ice!

Absolutely the worst!!!

My only rating-because Consumer Reports stands for much better than this.
