How Ironic

I have been a subscriber to consumers Union for 60 years, and I am surprised and appalled by the impenetrable app that makes it almost impossible to sign in. How could this have happened? How ironic.

Cant Log In

Not a great start for the new app - keep getting "authentication failed" messages despite multiple attempts, closing the app (swipe up). Please fix.

Needs TouchID

Magazine is great, the organization is an American treasure, but the app disappoints when every update requires logging in again. The app appears to have no persistence for login credentials between updates. Its not alone in this failing, but it seems like TouchID would solve this problem once and for all…

Clunky annoying design

While the content is there ( most of it, anyway) this app drives me insane. It is the only media app of the dozen that I use almost daily that makes me sign in constantly. All of the others remember me; I havent had to sign in to any of them in years. And it doesnt support Touch ID, so I have to look up the complex password that CR says I should use every time. Other complaints: no search capability, no index to past issues, no features that take advantage of e-publishing like most of the other media apps. I find the dead tree version much easier to use.

Are you kidding?

I just purchased this app. As a long time subscriber I never had need to access the magazine from my computer. However prodded by my better half for information access on purchases, I spent almost $20 to get the app. Wow, what a waste! Access is like trying to get into Ft. Knox. Once you finally get in you have to PAY for each issue! RIP OFF! Consumer Reports whom I have trusted of over 4 decades has shafted me. Heart broken.

Awful!

Signing in is impossible. See the other recent reviews for details. Use the web, it works and doesnt have the frustrations.

The Worst!

No content! Only sells past issues at $5 a pop. Completely disappointed especially since Im already a subscriber. Giving one star but wish I could give zero.

Dont bother

Poorly designed app. Clunky and slow. Unable to retrieve/change password from mobile device! Would be interesting to see a Consumer Reports review of their own app. Shame shame.

Authentication Failed

Come on CR. You can do so much better. To say this as direct as possible, digital products from CR are "not recommended" by this user. Specifically, the authentication process is flawed again in this release.

Works Well for Me!

I find the digital magazine easy to navigate and well designed. I think people might just have a hard time adjusting to the digital format? Ive had no issues. Consumer Reports has always been incredibly useful for me too.

Site is consistently poor

The latest upgrade to CR site is as bad as the original. Please work to come up with a site that works.

Quite useless!

Despite the fact I have an active digital account, this app will not give access to search for articles of a specific type of product. It will only allow me to purchase magazines one at a time for more money. I have to access any useful information by putting my iPad away and boot up my desktop machine. This app is useless for me. ☹️️

Not for iPad

I use CR on my phone, desktop & I am a print subscriber. Its disappointing that there isnt a version for iPad. Its just a larger version of the phone app and it is not taking advantage of the extra real estate that an iPad offers.

Unable to open.

Unable to sign in despite following instructions for print subscribers multiple times. Save yourself the aggravation and scrip this app.

Whats the point?

Just purchased a digital subscription via lap top. Downloaded this app to use on the go. But I cant use it to search for articles, only to purchase magazines. So Ill be deleting this app. And using the web browser from my iPad and phone.

What a ripoff

Absolutely no consumer reports info here. This app allows you to buy cr magazines only.

Needs improvement

I got the paper subscription, but sometimes I like to read on my Ipad. Well, this app is so complicated; sign in is a headache; they made it so complicated, its ridiculous. The magazine itself is great, just like the paper one. I took 2 stars away because of sign in issue.

Ludicrous - Believe the negative reviews

I was skeptical of the bad reviews. I thought, "those people probably havent subscribed to CR magazine". Well, I have subscribed, and the negative reviews were right - You cant read any magazine articles unless you pay another $5 per issue!!! We dont even pay $5 for the hard copy! This was a waste of time.

Bring back the paper hire a 6th grader to do your programming

After signing in every month and requesting pAssword change after password change I gave up on this app. Had service for 2 plus years. Good data... Bad ... very very bad interface.

Can not sign in

Nothing but troubles signing in. I am a printed subscriber. Worked for awhile now it doesnt.
